The Problem: Two Plastic Leak Points Next to a Hot Exhaust
Ford's engine-mounted fuel filter housing and the injector return fitting are both made of plastic. Plastic resists corrosion, but it gets brittle after years of heat cycles. When the filter housing cracks, it can spray diesel onto the inboard exhaust and start an engine fire, which Ford's engineers politely call a "thermal event."
The Fix: Billet Aluminum, Both Leak Points Covered
The S&S Leak Prevention Kit (LPK) is the only all-in-one kit that replaces both plastic parts while meeting or beating Ford's filtration specs. Instead of reusing the OEM filter cup, S&S uses a two-post mount that holds a larger filter, keeping factory 4-micron filtration while nearly doubling dirt-holding capacity. The aluminum Fuel Leak Prevention Fitting for the injector return comes standard in every kit.
