Rays Auto Clinic Shop Policies
At Rays Auto Clinic, we are committed to providing honest, high-quality automotive repair and service with transparent communication. These policies help ensure a smooth experience for our customers and protect both parties. By bringing your vehicle to us or authorizing repairs, you agree to the following terms. We reserve the right to update these policies; the most current version will be posted on our website.
1. Appointments and Service Scheduling
• We strongly recommend scheduling appointments in advance to minimize wait times.
• Same-day service is available for oil changes depending on shop capacity, call office to advise.
• A valid phone number and email are required for all appointments so we can contact you promptly about your vehicle’s status, any additional findings, or scheduling changes.
2. Estimates and Repair Authorization
• For any repairs estimated to exceed $150, we will provide a written estimate before beginning work (in compliance with Florida law).
• You must authorize repairs in writing or verbally (we will document verbal authorizations). We will contact you for approval if additional repairs are needed or if costs are expected to exceed the original estimate by more than 10%.
• Diagnostic fees are non-refundable but may be applied toward the cost of approved repairs.
• We will not perform unauthorized repairs.
3. Payment and Pricing
• Payment is due in full upon completion of repairs and before vehicle pickup.
• We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and check payments. There is no additional service fee for credit cards.
• All prices are subject to applicable taxes and fees. Parts and labor rates are competitive and clearly itemized on your invoice.
4. Warranty and Guarantees
• Most repairs come with a limited warranty on parts and labor (typically 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, unless otherwise stated, due to our affiliation through the TEKNET automotive network.
• Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, modifications, or normal wear and tear.
• Warranty claims must be made with your original invoice and may require the vehicle to be returned to our shop for inspection.
• No warranty on customer-supplied parts or fluids.
5. Vehicle Drop-Off, Storage, and Personal Items
• Please remove all personal belongings from your vehicle before drop-off. Rays Auto Clinic is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items left in the vehicle.
• We perform a basic visual inspection upon drop-off and may photograph the vehicle for documentation.
• Vehicles left beyond 7 days after notification of completion may incur daily storage fees (e.g., $25–$50 per day).
• Keys must be provided; we are not responsible for vehicles without keys or with mechanical issues preventing safe operation.
6. Test Drives and Liability
• Test drives may be necessary for diagnosis or quality assurance. Our technicians are fully insured for this purpose while operating your vehicle on public roads.
• We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, damage caused by manufacturer defects, or issues unrelated to the services we performed.
7. Parts and Service Practices
• We primarily use quality aftermarket or OEM-equivalent parts unless you specifically request otherwise.
• You have the right to inspect or receive replaced parts upon request (Florida customer rights).
• Customer-supplied parts may incur additional labor charges and are installed “as-is” with no warranty from us.
8. Cancellations and No-Shows
• Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
• Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a fee or restricted future scheduling.
9. Abandoned Vehicles
• If a vehicle is not claimed within 30 days after completion and notification, or if payment arrangements are not made, we may follow Florida procedures for a mechanic’s lien, including potential sale of the vehicle to recover costs.
10. Customer Rights (Florida Law)
You are entitled to:
• A written estimate for repairs costing more than the state threshold.
• Authorization for any repairs exceeding the agreed amount.
• Return or inspection of replaced parts (if requested at the time of authorization).
• Clear, itemized invoices.
We proudly comply with all Florida Motor Vehicle Repair Act requirements and are registered as required.
